POSITION:  Wash Crew

DEPARTMENT:  Logistics / Transportation

REPORTS TO:  Transportation Maintenance Shop Foreman

CLASSIFICATION:  Full-time , Safety Sensitive

POSITION SUMMARY:  Responsible for implementing and maintaining the delivery equipment sanitation program for Select Genetics – Logistics and Transportation. The wash crew position is in Aurora, MO. The work schedule is Mon-Fri 7:30-4:30. A valid driver's license is required. The starting pay is $16.15 (wage may vary depending on experience).

Select Genetics presents a solid platform to serve customers on a national and international scale by providing quality poults, service, and innovation.  Select Genetics is the leading supplier of poults to growers and companies across the world.  The wash crew will:
 
  • Work with supervisor and peers in building an effective team.
  • Recognize problems with assignments and advise the supervisor immediately.
  • Follow all specified operational and safety procedures of the company.
  • Operate as a non-CDL driver in operating equipment through the yard, wash bay, and maintenance shop floor (operation of equipment contingent on successful training completion and limited to company-owned property and grounds.
  • Learn the delivery schedule to use as it relates to washing responsibilities.
  • Hot water washout and rinse of poult and egg delivery equipment.
  • Additional sanitation of poult and egg delivery equipment as required.
  • Monitor the serviceability of poult trailer filters and change them out as required.
  • Check for proper installation and serviceability of trailer environmental data recording devices. Report deficiencies to Shop Foreman for required repairs (download and retrieve data)
  • Conduct weekly inventories of required on-hand sanitation supplies (soap, Virocid, BioGel, Decon 7, Zep-a-Lume) and report product needs to supervisor for immediate stock replenishment
  • Conduct daily serviceability inspections on sanitation equipment to ensure proper operation (spray wands, hoses, ramps, respirators, PPE). Report deficiencies to supervisor for immediate repair or replacement.
  • Assist in implementing weekly diagnostic specimen collection (air plates, blood plates, AGAR plating, swabbing) as needed. Process specimens for immediate transport to the nearest company diagnostic laboratory.
  • Other duties may include. 1. Drivers support (loading-trucks, staging trucks, cleaning inside of trucks, communicating changes) 2. Maintenance support (helping with repairs, pointing out needed repairs) 3. Dispatch support (learn schedule to assist with changes to the schedule and back up dispatch when needed) Poult delivery support (Help with poult deliveries when needed).
  • Follow all of the company’s rules and regulations for biosecurity, animal welfare, and safety.
  • Exhibit company values.
  • Successfully work with live animals.
  • Organize and prioritize responsibilities to ensure efficient operations.
  • Work an extended workday if needed.

QUALIFICATIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent
Does not own or operate around backyard poultry operations off-duty
Experience with cleaning chemicals preferred
Must be able to stand, bend, squat, reach, grasp, push, and pull for extended periods.  Limited climbing is required.  Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs short distances
Valid Drivers License Is Required
