Please know that this is not a fixed shift schedule. Position requires time availability and flexability. This is a full time position with benefits. The approximate weekly hours can be between 45-55 hours. Since our work depends on poult production-we can gaurentee when your shift starts- we can NOT gaurentee when you will be done. Clock out times fluctuate depending on production orders. Below is a approximation to consider before applying.

*Work starts approxomitely 3am mon/tues/thurs/fri. These days are usually between 10-13 hours.

*Wednesdays are half days: 3-5 hours-start time in the AM.

*Saturdays are on call. usually 3-5 hours-start time in the AM- if needed. Will be notified day before if needed to come in.

*Sundays are off.

Since we deal with a live product, must be okay working holidays.

Job description

Select Genetics is a turkey breeding and hatchery business. We are currently seeking individuals with the right strengths to fill various positions that add significant value to our operation. Training and/or related experience is preferred but not required. We will train you if you:

Job Duties:

The General Hatch laborer follows hatching and processing protocols of a day old poults(baby turkeys) including but not limited to: hatch pull, counting poults, giving accurate numbers, be comfortable handling live turkeys and/or eggs, stacking boxes, washing and sanitizing the workplace to pass our inspections. Within this process there will be the expectation of consistent cleanliness and animal welfare standards being upheld.

The Hatch crew Laborer carries out all directives in accordance with the Company’s policies and applicable laws. All Company information will be handled with complete confidentiality.

Work requires frequent bending, standing, and walking. Work is subject to tight deadlines and interruptions. The work environment includes exposure to dust, chemicals, fumes and varying temperatures such as hot, cold, humid, and dust. The Laborer must be physically able to lift and/or push and handle up to 30 lbs. frequently during the day. The Laborer can be asked to train in multiple departments and rotate departments based on Company’s needs.

Compensation:

Pay: $17.67 hourly/AG Exempt. After 90 day probation will be $18.04

This is a agriculture-exempt position. Under the Fair Labor Standards Act, this role is not eligible for overtime pay. However, we offer plenty of consistent hours, steady full-time work, and a benefits package including:
