Please know that this is not a fixed shift schedule. Position requires time availability and flexability. This is a full time position with benefits. The approximate weekly hours can be between 45-55 hours. Since our work depends on poult production-we can gaurentee when your shift starts- we can NOT gaurentee when you will be done. Clock out times fluctuate depending on production orders. Below is a approximation to consider before applying.

*Work starts approxomitely 5am mon/tues/thurs/fri. These days are usually between 10-13 hours.

*Wednesdays are half days: 3-5 hours-start time in the am.

*Saturdays are on call. usually 3-5 hours if needed. Will be notified day before if needed to come in.

*Sundays are off.

Since we deal with a live product, must be okay working holidays.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Select Genetics presents a solid platform to serve customers on a national and international scale by providing quality poults, service, and innovation. Select Genetics is the leading supplier of poults and eggs to growers and companies across the world and has operations in eight US States. Duties will be as follows:

• Preparing the machines for the daily production.
• Conducts frequent checks on the machines for quality or adjustments needed.
• Monitoring the machines to ensure they are working properly.
• Performing any preventative and repair maintenance.
• Maintaining records of downtime, repairs, and operator/machine performance.
• Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and annual cleaning and checks.
• Maintain and inform management of inventory/machine parts needed.
• Maintaining sentry software.
• Inform the service room supervisor of any scheduled or non-scheduled downtime of the machines.
• Cross-trained in any job related to the service room.
• Addresses any issue that arises and prioritizes repairs when necessary;
• Follows all of the company’s rules and regulations for biosecurity, animal welfare, and safety;
• Demonstrates organization and prioritizes responsibilities that need attention around the service room to ensure efficient operations at the service room.
• Demonstrates high knowledge of the Nova Tech machinery.
• Remains available to work an extended work day and other days, if needed.

Any other duty assigned by the supervisor.

Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:

• Mechanically inclined. experiance with production robotics or machinery repair a plus.
• Ability to work with a variety of tools and equipment required. Tools provided.
• Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solving skills required
• Basic math skills required
• Good communication skills required
• Be comfortable working with different cultures.
• Be comfortable handling baby turkeys (poults)
• Prior experience in mechanical and electronics repairs-prefer
• Nova Tech Certification within 60 days.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Bi-lingual Spanish speaking skills are a plus.

Compensation:

Pay: 18.44 hourly/AG Exempt. After 90 day probation will be $18.80.

This is a agriculture-exempt position. Under the Fair Labor Standards Act, this role is not eligible for overtime pay. However, we offer plenty of consistent hours, steady full-time work, and a benefits package including:
